Welcome to Butterfly Class!

We are very lucky at Greenvale to have our own Nursery, Butterfly Class. 

We take children from the term after their 3rd birthday, so this means your child will be able to start our funded Nursery (subject to spaces) in September, January and April after they have turned 3.

We run morning sessions only from 8.30am - 11.30am, Monday to Friday and term time only.

Children learn through active, practical activities. Every day they will have the opportunity to explore a range of different learning experiences. Throughout the session, activities take place indoors and outdoors.

Our learning environment is stimulating and designed to meet the requirements of the Early Years Framework. We are sensitive to children’s needs and interests and consider these when planning learning experiences.

A typical day in Butterfly Class     

8.30am - 8.45am Arrival and settling time.

8.45am - 9am ‘Welcome Time’ on the carpet.

9am - 11:00am ‘VIP time’ (Very Important Play)

Children will be learning through their play both inside and outside. Our highly skilled staff will be able to tailor your child’s play to meet their development needs and priorities.           Your child may not even know that they are learning! Children will also be able to access snack and stories supported by one of our adults.

11:00am - 11:10am Tidy-up time.

11:10am - 11:20am ‘Big movement’ time.

11:20am - 11:30am Milk and Story.

11:30am Home time
