Woody's Message - read below to find out what Woody has to say to you all this week.
Hi Everyone,
It is very strange being at home all of the time isn't it? I am missing you all and I am trying to find ways to make links between home and school.

Hi Everyone,
In these strange times I am missing all of my friends. I have decided to use the things I know to change my lonely feelings into happy thoughts. I am finding ways to be resourceful.

Hi Everyone,
It’s nearly time to go back to school… this gave me a strange feeling in my tummy. My humans wanted to help me feel better.
Have a look at this video to find out how I have been getting ready to be back at school very soon - I have been doing lots of little things like trying on my uniform, practising my counting and travelling in the car again! Perhaps you could do these too?

Hello!
Don't forget to stay healthy by getting some exercise every day. You guys were always running around on the playground at school, it's harder now to find the space to run if you don't have a garden. It's getting easier to be out and about every day so make the most of it and challenge yourself to get to the park and run free! When you get home you'll be all chilled out and feeling satisfied. I'm always a good dog after my run in the field because it stops me wanting to be a pest by looking for other things to do!
Happy running! Woody
Hi there!
Oh no, I've got far too excited. There are too many toys out and I've made a complete mess.
What should I do? Does it get tricky in your house when there are toys everywhere? Don't forget to work as a team to tidy up. It's always the bit nobody wants to do and it can get a bit stressful when we have to do it. Remember, if you work together and pick up just one or two things at a time it doesn't feel so bad. Maybe you could choose a song you all like to play whilst you're doing it.
Now, where did I put my ball?

Hello there,
Staying at home so much can get tricky. Are there things in your house that you have been told you must leave alone? It is very important that you listen and follow your instructions so that you are all safe. This picture shows when we hatched chicks in Robins Class. I had to work very hard to use my good listening and remember to use good sitting near their box. You all helped me to do this and I loved to be told I was a good dog. The chicks grew big and strong and I was able to control myself really well.
Being a very good dog around the chicks saved my nose from getting pecked. What are the things you must be safe around, at home? Perhaps you could make posters to put up and remind people about safety in the home and why it is so important.
Lots of tail wags,
Woody

Hello everyone, Look how little Luna used to be!
We can use this picture for lots of challenges.....
First, can you be like a detective and list all the differences between Luna and me? Can you challenge someone in your family to spot all these differences?
Next, think about how tall we are from the floor to the top of our heads? Can you build towers to show how tall you think we are? You could use blocks, old boxes or whatever you have at home.
What about drawing us? Show in your pictures the differences you have observed.
Finally, think about Mrs Whale's sausage dog, Jovi. Could you add him into your picture? Think how his size, colour and shape compares to us.
We would love to see your pictures so save them and bring them to school when we are all back together.
Stay safe and big sniffs!
Woody

Hello,
Are you seeing lots of people wearing face masks? Do you know what they're for? Because of the germs that are around, some people are choosing to wear a mask on their face. This does two things, it stops them giving you germs and it stops them catching them from others.
When we can't see a whole face, look at the person's eyes, you'll be able to see important things like if they are smiling or where they are looking. Try covering part of your face with a book and look in the mirror. Try changing your facial expression to see how it changes the rest of your face. Try smiling, laughing or being surprised. Ask someone at home to guess what face you are pulling then swap so you have to guess.
We might have to get used to seeing and perhaps wearing the face masks. Playing this game will help it feel ok.
Stay safe everyone!

Hello!
Ssh! I'm playing a game! I have to pretend to be asleep! I'm in my castle and I've been asleep for a hundred years, hang on a minute, this is sounding like the story of Sleeping Beauty. That won't do. Can you make up a new story? Perhaps a Woody, Luna and Jovi version with lots of things that dogs love in it? Perhaps Luna comes in and wakes me up to play chase? Use your imagination and make up your own story to act out, draw or play with your toys.
It's always fun to mix up traditional tales, which other stories can you change around in your games?
Happy playing,
Woody

Hi Everyone,
If you're at home with younger brothers and sisters, remember to be gentle and patient with them. It can get tricky sharing your things. If they really want something that you have, try offering them something different to play with. It is worth remembering that they'll only play with it for a short time and then you can carry on with your own game.
I always try my best to share with Luna and Jovi, it's why we have so much fun.

Luna! Jovi! Help! Could you write a story to help me escape?
Maybe this isn't a scary situation .... perhaps the cows are trying to say hello? Could you tell your story by drawing a set of pictures? What do you think is happening?
I can't wait to hear the stories you create.
Happy story telling,

Hi there, Woody here!
Luna and I have been practising keeping 2 metres apart when we go out to exercise. Are you remembering to do this? Do you know how far 2 metres is? Look for a tape measure at home and investigate. How many Jovi's could you fit in that space? Find out about other animal sizes.... how many other animals could fit into a 2 metre distance?
Happy estimating!

Hi there,
This is me when I was little. What did you look like when you were younger? Spend some time with your family looking through your photos. Talk about funny moments and special days. What other memories do your photos bring back?
Enjoy some happy chat with your loved ones.

Woody and Jovi visited Greenvale recently and were searching for all the children. They were so sad to see the school so empty and missed their good friend Luna. When they heard that all of you had to keep busy at home they decided to give you some different challenges to do if you wish. Jovi wanted to go first!
As the sun has been shining lately he thought it would be great for you to go on a nature hunt in your garden or if you go outside for your daily exercise. Of course you could also do this inside. Look for something to represent each letter of the alphabet. Then take a picture or draw that image. Use these to create your own ABC book. You could add words and other facts too. If you wish to bring these in once the school reopens you can as Jovi would love to see them and they would be useful to use for our new Nursery and Reception children next year. Happy ABC hunting!
