Newsletter Term 1 -  12th September 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back for a new school year, and welcome to all the new children that have joined us.

Nursery & Reception have settled in to their new classes wonderfully. It is a joy to see them all playing together and making friends.

As always, the term will be busy with information being sent out to you when required. Please check the website on a regular basis for any events or information.

Here's to a great term 1!

Best wishes,

Mrs Allnutt

Headteacher

A reminder to use your Numbots and Times Tables Rock Stars accounts to support your children's maths progress, and to have some fun!

There are 2 ways to access TTRockStars and Numbots - via a website link OR in an app. Whichever suits you best.

Children use the same login for both of the sites.

Reading

Children's reading books are changed once a week and give your child a chance to practice skills which have been taught. By re-reading a familiar text, they can practice fluency & pace. We also encourage you to read other books with your child and to share all of those reading experience in their reading diaries.

The children respond really well to adding to their reading charts in class aiming for '5 reads', which then means they can put their name in the reward jar/hat/bowl/box.

At the end of term, we pull out a name, and that child receives a book reward. So, the more we read, the more chances we have to win that prize!

Coats

While the weather is changeable and unpredictable, we are asking please that you send your child to school with a coat.

Sun in the morning has been replaced by cold and cloudy by lunchtime this week, and we have had to restrict some outside time due to no coats.

Please reassure your children that we will not make them wear their coats if the weather is warm, we do still give them the choice, but there will be times we will strongly advise them to put it on.

Thank you

Wall of Fame

So far this term, we have already had 4 awards for our Wall of Fame - reading challenge awards from the Medway Libraries Summer Reading Challenge.

We love to hear about the achievements that our children are making outside of school, and we celebrate these, along with school achievements in our Friday assembly. Please send in any medals/certificates/trophies/badges, and we will add them to our Wall of Fame!

Parking & Local Area

We would like to ask that everyone is respectful of the local area and the residents.

We are aware that with the school street scheme in place, it makes it problematic, but please do not park across driveways of houses in the nearby roads.

Thank you for your co-operation
