Dear Parents and Carers,
As we come to the end of a busy and exciting Easter term, we would like to take a moment to reflect on all the wonderful learning experiences and events that have taken place across the school.
It has been a pleasure to welcome so many parents and carers into school for our recent Parents’ Evenings. These meetings are such a valuable opportunity to share the progress children are making and to celebrate their achievements—thank you for your continued support. Thank you also for your response to our parents survey. We really value your feedback.
In Nursery, there was great excitement as the children took care of the ducklings earlier in the term. This was a fantastic hands-on learning experience, helping the children to understand life cycles and develop their sense of responsibility. And the rest of us couldn't help but go in to take a peek too!
Year 5 pupils took part in an engaging Mayan workshop, where they explored ancient traditions, artefacts, and daily life. Meanwhile, Year 3 stepped back in time during their Stone Age workshop visit to Kent Life.
Across the school, children have also been enjoying music technology sessions, developing their creativity and confidence with digital tools. Year 5 have additionally been continuing with their ukulele lessons, showing great enthusiasm and progress.
We were proud to support Comic Relief with a fantastic fundraising day. The children tried incredibly hard to make us laugh - we mostly held out until the very end of the day! We thank you all for showing real generosity in helping raise money for such an important cause.
Road safety has also been a key focus this term, with informative sessions delivered to both Year 3 and Reception. These sessions are vital in helping children understand how to stay safe when out and about.
Reception children had a wonderful time during their Pirate Day, and enjoyed inviting parents and carers in at the end of the day.
Staffing:
For terms 5 & 6 after the Easter break, Mrs Whale will be taking on the role of Acting Deputy Headteacher, whilst I am Acting Headteacher. During this time, she will not be based in the classroom as usual. The class will be taught by Ms Mercer, and Mrs Whale will liaise with her so that they can plan for the class together.
Thank you as always for your continued support throughout this term. We wish you all a happy and restful Easter break and look forward to welcoming everyone back for the summer term.
Mrs Powlesland
Acting Headteacher
