Term 1. 8th October

Newsletter issue number 1 - Term 1. - 10th September 2021

Head Teacher's welcome

Dear Parent/Carers,

We have had a wonderful beginning to the term. Our new Reception children have settled into the school routine very well, and you should be especially proud of them as this is a big step moving to 'big school'.

We also look forward to our Nursery children that will be returning to us, along with many new starters on Monday.

The rest of the school have also settled very well and their behaviour has been amazing!

Over the next few weeks, as we settle back into routines, please remember to read with your child as often as you can even if this is sharing a bedtime story. Reading is very important as it opens up the doors to learning and is a key focus in school.  Reading to your child is just as important and valuable as them reading books for themselves.

There are many important dates to look for on the website and also detailed below, including our Christmas play dates, which we are really excited about as for the first time Nursery, Reception & Year 1 will be performing together. As always, if anything changes due to COVID we will let you know as soon as possible.

Our newsletters will be published twice a term, and come to you in email and on the 'School News' app. We will also keep you informed via email of rewards, celebrations and key events and information during the term. Teachers will also email with information about homework and anything to with their class.

We are looking forward to a busy and exciting year!

Mrs Allnutt

Head Teacher

'Handle with Care'

If your family is experiencing difficulties at home we are here to support you and your children in whatever ways we can.

We know that you are not always able to share details and that's ok. You may not wish to speak to us face to face.

If your child is coming to school after a difficult night, morning or weekend, and you cannot/do not wish to speak to us directly, please email in to the school with 'Handle with Care' as the subject. Nothing else will be said or asked. This will let us discreetly know that your child may need extra time, patience or help during the day.

Email to: office@greenvale.medway.sch.uk

'School News' app

Our new term dates and start times can be found on the app, and also further down in this weeks newsletter. We will also keep the app and the website updated with news about the building works.
